Margarita Pirinen presented BIOS at OpenBio 2026

Presentation at the OpenBio expert session

BIOS founder and CEO Margarita Pirinen spoke at OpenBio 2026 in the science town of Koltsovo. She presented BIOS at the expert session ‘Technologies and products of Russian and international biotechnology: what is available to the Russian market right now’.

The presentation was titled ‘The next generation of medical AI: a dynamic model of health’. Margarita described the BIOS architecture and the project's research task: modelling a person's condition and changes using medical data accumulated over time.

What the paper covered

Margarita explained why individual tests, conclusions and prescriptions are insufficient to understand a health history. Doctors need to compare them, consider the order of events and see what information is missing.

The BIOS approach presented involves preserving observations together with their sources, dates and medical context. This organisation of data underpins comparison of changes and generation of hypotheses for doctors to assess.

BIOS — an OpenBio 2026 competition award winner

BIOS also became an award winner in Scientific Community's Choice, OpenBio 2026, taking second place in the IT Technologies and Solutions category. The organisers notified the team of the results.

The project and its presentation at the forum were covered in an article in Komsomolskaya Pravda. Margarita discussed how BIOS was created and the next phase of work: scientific and clinical validation.
