On 8 September 2026, the BIOS team received notification from the organisers of the results of the Scientific Community's Choice competition for Russian developments at OpenBio 2026: the project won an award, taking second place in the IT Technologies and Solutions category.
This recognition is particularly important to the BIOS team: the competition focuses on developments with potential value for scientific laboratories, research centres and other biotechnology organisations.
About the competition
Solutions for the scientific community and life sciences
The OpenBio 2026 competition is open to Russian start-ups, research institutes and commercial companies. Participants present developments in instrumentation, reagents and digital technologies.
The IT Technologies and Solutions category, in which BIOS received an award, focuses on software and digital solutions for life sciences. An expert jury assessed the projects, and winners receive greater integration into the OpenBio 2026 forum programme.
About the product
BIOS preserves medical context over time
BIOS is building digital infrastructure for working with health histories. It brings medical documents, measurements, symptoms, prescriptions and events together in Health Memory: a longitudinal context of a person's health.
The BIOS technology core structures data, preserves its provenance and versions, compares observations over time and helps produce verifiable results. BIOS does not diagnose or replace a doctor's decision.
Second place at OpenBio 2026 provided external recognition of the direction the team is pursuing: from fragmented medical data to coherent, traceable context suitable for further professional assessment.
The next stage
Dialogue with the scientific and industry community
The 13th Russian Biotechnology Forum OpenBio will take place on 22–25 September 2026 in the science town of Koltsovo. The current forum programme includes scientific sessions and expert discussions, including data and artificial intelligence in medicine.
BIOS will be represented in the OpenBio 2026 Solutions Gallery at the forum venue. This format introduces visitors to companies and developments recognised by the scientific community.
For BIOS, participation provides an opportunity to continue discussing the applicability of digital solutions, data-quality requirements and the conditions needed to integrate new technologies safely into research and medical practice.
