Two ways to add a family member
An invited relative accepts the invitation and uses their own account. They manage their own data and permissions. You see only the family context permitted by the relationship and separate consents.
A manual profile contains information you have recorded from what a relative told you or from family recollection. This can be useful for medical history, but it is not a verified medical record and must be labelled as reported rather than documented.
Why profiles must remain separate
A laboratory result, diagnosis or medicine must belong to a specific person. Uploading a relative's document to your own profile creates dangerous confusion in trends and AI context. Always check the name and date of birth on a document before uploading it.
A family relationship may be an important factor, but it does not transfer medical facts between profiles. For example, a relative's condition is part of your family medical history, not your own diagnosis.
Consent and representation
An adult relative grants access independently. For a child or a person represented by someone else, the system must rely on verified authority and applicable rules. Do not identify yourself as a representative without a valid basis.
If a relationship changes or was created by mistake, update it and check permissions. Removing a visual connection does not necessarily revoke a previously granted permission — permissions must be managed separately.
How to use family context
The family section helps prepare information about relatives, identify gaps and formulate questions for a doctor. It does not automatically calculate hereditary risk or replace advice from a geneticist or other specialist. Important information is best confirmed with documents and checked with the relative concerned.
